whats the tastiest way to cook squash?
i would think baked is a no contest but i dont know that much about cooking
|
try sauteing it in some olive oil, then adding some vegetable broth in the skillet and cutting up some onion and garlic in with it and cooking for several minutes. or, better yet, find a recipe for ratatouille (sp?).
--edit-- OR, you could always mix it with some other veggies and cook it on the grill with some olive oil spray and salt and lemon pepper, among other spices. (can you tell i eat a lot of squash?) |
so have you ever had it when its baked and all kinda mashed up? very sweet if i remember. sorta caramelized in a way
|
You'd get along great with my sister.....she usually grills them/other vegetables. I can't handle eating stuff like that though.....nope, not gonna do it.
|
Mix with other root vegetables (carrots, swede, potatoes etc.) season well, and roast.
|
Cut them in half. Extract the seeds and steam them.
Add salt, pepper and a little butter and they're ready. |
You're making this vegan very hungry.
|
fry that shit up.

Before I answer, is squash in the US the same as marrow in the UK? e.g this:
![]() 'cos I cooked stuffed marrow yesterday, and it was delicious. |
|
That looks more like a pumpkin.
I thought a squash was a little yellow vegetable. Well perhaps it is just here. |

you have to add a lot of things to it to get a flavour though. its like aubergine in that it doesnt really taste of anything or has a very suttle flavour.
|
Speeking of aubergine, it's flesh gets brown soon after cutting it up. To stop that from happening, you should always slice it length wise.
