Nazi exploitation movies

anyone ever seen any of these? i saw some recently, total trash and kinda fucking crazy. anyone else?

LifeDistortion 07.24.2011 05:58 PM

I don't think I have but give some titles of what you've seen. I'm curious, and what sorts of things can we expect in them?

There are loads but SS Experiment Camp and Ilsa She Wolf of the SS tend to get the most accolades/notoriety. Also, if you want something more mainstream, there's The Boys From Brazil, which is quite a good film in its own right.

Edit: also Tinto Brass' Salon Kitty

last night we saw gestapo last orgy which was pretty fucked but highly entertaining. i recognize some of those titles and i am gonna check them out, thankfully i know some folks who already have a bunch of them so i dont have to buy them first.

also have the night porter to watch later.

The Night Porter is a great film in its own right but isn't really an exploitation movie at all. For that I'd definitely recommend Ilsa.

My friends thought they'd have some ironic fun and rent "Hitler Meets Caligula," though I think it goes by several titles. Despite the laughably low production value, the concept was offensive enough to drive me from the room.

If you include The Boys From Brazil as 'nazi exploitation' than Kelly's Heroes must be up there too. Wheere Eagle's Dare is a good one.

Only to a certain degree. Nazi exploitation films tend to concentrate on the experiments and torture undertaken by the nazis, usually with a certain sexual (usually S&M) undercurrent, rather than on their more conventional war-time escapades. The Boys from Brazil sort of fits because it's about Josef Mengele but falls down on its lack of gratuitous sex and violence (hence my argument that it's a sort of mainstream equivalent), whereas Kelly's Heroes and Where Eagles Dare are more just action films that happen to be set during WWII.

So like Inglorious Bastards? The original is fun, but the Tarantino remake is one of the most boring pieces of shit I've had to sit through in awhile. An hour into it, I'm like, is anything going to happen?

not sure if anyone's seen 7 Beauties, but it's great
