What was the last song you wrote and what was it about?

I wrote a song today called "Gavin" about the character from Kids in the Hall.

Glice 09.12.2006 02:16 PM

The last song I wrote was about buying a kebab in exchange for sex with a girl who, it transpires, had to go to school the next morning, much to the protagonists chagrin.

It was shit.

i dont write songs, i only change the lyrics to obscene meanings and sing along. pretty easy when you have a dumb, predictable melody. can't think one right now but i do it with commercials, tv themes, or shitty ass radio music. it's all about assrape, cum in the mouth, cocksucker, motherfucker (in the literal sense), etc. oh it's retarded i know. that's part of the fun.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 09.12.2006 02:32 PM

No, it isn't retarded, my friend Ekey changed the song "Complicated" by Avril to "Related" and made it be about incest.

!@#$%! 09.12.2006 02:39 PM

it is retarded, at least the way i do it. the stupider the better. like abject drunkenness, or smilies: :D:D:D

I usually only wriite the music but a few days ago I wrote a song with lyrics about a couple from a different galaxy where it always rains. I have no idea why I did it but i'm really happy with the song.

youthoftomorrow 09.12.2006 06:56 PM

yeah, i don't really write lyrics much. i wrote a song a few days ago in my favorite tuning ever (DADDAD) that sounds pretty cool.

Cantankerous 09.12.2006 06:57 PM

honestly? i don't even remember.

I wrote this song called 'Cypress Creek' basically its a deeply nostalgic song about Suburbia youth (a common theme in my lyrics). Think Richard Linklater's film 'SubUrbia'. Whenever i write a song I usually have an image in my head, for this particular song it was a group of teenagers in a car late at night driving through a quiet neighbourhood, car stereo blasting...dunno why! lol

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 09.12.2006 07:43 PM

just some words
random words, rhymes and about hollywood and the end of the world.

k-krack 09.12.2006 07:56 PM

Its a pretty short one. (four lines only.. ill probably elaborate on it.. but who knows) called For Life. i was upset at the time. (last week)

since i have always been disappointed in my own lyrical ability, I have recently started a new thing. I have started writing covers of some of my favorite songs, changing the music drastically to fit my style.

recently I did Nirvana's Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge On Seattle.

I still dabble in my own lyrics sometimes.

Anngella 09.12.2006 08:18 PM

I haven't written anything in ages. It was probably something really incredibly cliche and/or depressing. Bleh.
Actually the other day I was looking through this oldold binder of stuff I wrote in like 7th grade ..very embarassing.

Silent Dan Speaks 09.12.2006 09:45 PM

It was called "You Broke My Fucking Heart."

You tell me what it's about.

HaydenAsche 09.12.2006 10:36 PM

A hip-hop version of Sweet Dreams.

Nothing To Write Home About
about a guy who travels the world looking for adventure and nothing exciting happens. His car won't even break down.

I do this a lot. Keep the lyrics, change everything else. I once did a covers set of some really well known tunes where no-one recognised them. Aceness.
