Melvins fans, help me out here.
 

so, my dad gave me a $30 gift certificate to my favorite record store and i need some help deciding what to buy. i know i'm getting Burned Mind by Wolf Eyes and a Melvins record. i want to know which you would suggest.

i suggest buying something better than oops i mean the melvins not deerhoof.

i wouldn't bother with burned mind. just go and see wolf eyes live and forget the records as they are mostly sub-par. that's what happens when you release 200 records/year, like the members of wolf eyes do.

Bullhead is my pick of the two. I'm more of a fan of their post-Houdini work myself though.

The only Wolf Eyes release I listen to alot is Dead Hills. It's far better than Burned Mind.

Bullhead and Ozma both for the win.

i'm assuming that ozma comes with gluey porch treatments so its a no contest although bullhead is essential and most likely their second best

I think Honky is the best album. It has the straight up hard rockers like Mombius Hibanchi then really fucked up shit like They Must All be Slaughtered. It's the perfect combination but I think it's pretty hard to find, if you ever see Prick anywhere be sure to get that, it's probably the most fucked up album ever made.

Agreed. Stag is another one that's probably hard to find but encompasses everything I love about The Melvins.
