I've become interested in EVP and was wondering if there are any well-known tricks for finding ghosts?

I'm thinking of setting my microphone in my silent room for a few hours and not doing anything around the house and coming back later and listening to the silence to see if I can hear anything. Obviously, it'll pick up some of the static fuzz, but..

Also, I heard recording feedback tones can result in occassional ghostly voices.

Interesting and all, but complete hogwash if you ask me... record some radio statik for hours. TV statik, whatever...

i was in the midst of recording last week in my basement, i had one of my electronic things i build blaring and then it stopped for like 10 seconds and blurted out this distorted voice talking or something and then went back to normal. ive got it on tape, it sounds fucking mad.

I'd like to hear this, if possible, m^a(t)h, being the cynic I am.

i think it is total garbage, there was a guy here in adelaide recently who made the news for recording atmos in and around the city who beleives he recorded ghosts talking to him. on the examples that were played on the news they were something i could knock up in 15 minutes on protools..... if you ask me complete garbage

Ditto, but those are two completely different things when you think about it. "Ghosts" would be a part of an after-life, which I don't believe in. E-T's are a part of "natural" life, which I guess has to be believed in.

Well it is hard, I mean I don't believe these "aliens" are green or gray but some sort of a human-like being.

when i leave my stereo on when im sleeping, sometimes the cops drive past and their radio blasts thru my amp at a horrible volume and scares the shit out of me.
all the mediums last century that got people really believing in it were fakes.
they were some of the first to offer any sort of photographic proof and they were just pissing around. like the loch ness monster. the first photo was a fake and every photo since looks exactly like that first fake one.
all a load of bollox.

the sound of two cats fucking scared the shit out of me. record that.

I got these really cheap walkie talkies for my birthday several years ago and whenever i had one on at this certain place in my room I could always pick up our next door nieghbors phone calls. Fun stuff.

I always wondered about the whole EVP thing. it seems like what "backmasking" is like, how people strain to hear anything at all until their eears actually "hear" words or phrases.
