I saw Motorpsycho last night!
So Motorpsycho were playing a club yesterday, and they were fucking amazing. It was extremly loud, and they played lots of songs from their new album. They also improvised a good bit, and as a encore they played Wearing Yr Smell, Neverland and Waiting For The One!!
It was a perfect night. |
i've been meaning to hear motorpsycho for a long time, any album recommnedations?
I think that Timothys Monster is the best, but you could also start with Demon Box which is a fine album.
Demon box happens to be my favourite too.I'd say second phase Motorpsycho are criminally underrated as a band.Glad someone gives them a mention on here.
Yeah, the three westcoast-pop type albums are not bad either, and I the new record is good too. I think they get older in a good way.
Saw them twice, and they were ecstatic. Very underrated indeed.
Did they rip their name off the Dylan song Motorpsycho Nightmare? I think they might have.

Quote:
Why the name Motorpsycho? "In autumn 1989 we saw 'Motorpsycho' written on the wall of a sleazy movie theater in London. There was trilogy of director Russ Meyer. The first film was 'Faster Pussycat Kill Kill'. The second was named 'Mudhoney'. The third was 'Motorpsycho'. -Let's call ourselves Motorpsycho, we said. We'll never be as bad as Faster Pussycat, but we might be as good as Mudhoney someday." |
That's a very nice story.^ Didn't know that.
Interesting.
