Continental 62, the "new" Christina Rosenvinge album (w. steve shelly/lee ranaldo)
The thread title says "new" because apparently this already came out last february, but I only found out about this a couple of weeks ago. I have been listening to it a few times now and I like it a lot. I'd say it's probably her best album to date.
Just like on her first two albums Steve Shelley plays the drums and Lee Ranaldo and Tim Foljahn contribute as well. Lee plays guitar and does backing vocals on Window. I haven't seen anything mentioned about this, probably because it wasn't released on SLR like her previous albums but on a little known label called Søster. Anyway, I recommend checking it out. listen to a few tracks on her myspace http://www.myspace.com/christinarosenvinge http://www.christinarosenvinge.com/ |

oh! i think i might be in love! she has a cat-powerish rasp in her voice.
the best part is that i CAN understand the lyrics, for a change. |
holy ass-- "liar to love" is almost a stereolab song minus the orchestration.
oh im getting this. damn steve! what took you so long to post mp3s? i could have been listening to this last year already... :P |
hehe, i figured it would probably be up your avenue.
good call on the stereolab comparison for liar to love. i hadn't noticed that yet, but it's absolutely true. |
