Yoko Ono, Thurston Moore, and Kim Gordon Release Collaborative Benefit Single
If Yoko reunites Sonic Youth, I'll forgive her for breaking up The Beatles...
http://pitchfork.com/news/46743-yoko...enefit-single/ Yoko Ono has teamed up with (former?) Sonic Youth members Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon for a new 14-minute track. "Early in the Morning" is out today digitally via Chimera Music, with a June 19 release set for iTunes and Amazon. It will also be released as a 10" on June 19 in the U.S. and July 3 in the UK. Profits from the track go to Ashinaga Rainbow House, which is building a Rainbow House in the Tohoku region of Japan for victims of the March 2011 tsunami. Ono is also releasing An Invisible Flower, an illustrated story that she wrote in 1952 as a 19-year-old, via Chimera Library/Chronicle Books. The book will also be released in a special boxed edition. |

This is very special to hear, actually it hard to even put it to words. :) i know music and the underneath raw expression can be very healing and can become entire new realities of experience for any people let alone people who have been experimenting for decades while focusing their hearts and minds.

Maybe more than 40 years after pulling a certain band apart miss Ono can bring another one together again. Redemption at last!

I got "Early In the Morning" last thursday. I was very irritated about Yoko´s part in first listening, but it wasn´t that bad in second listening. I think Yoko´s ability to express herself with her voice has always been quite limited. And you can hear it very clear in Early in the morning because Thurston and Kim have also in this piece very great ability to express themself. But anyway it´s also beautiful item!

This is my favourite release so far this year...
Hands down, I love every second of it. |
mine is coming

Yoko didn't break up the Beatles, the Beatles broke up the Beatles. They were adult men drifting apart that couldn't handle themselves maturely.

Picked this up the other day - the actual vinyl is a piece of shit - pops and clicks everywhere and the surface noise is brutal. No I wasn't playing the side with the etching :p
Hopefully the LP will be a different story, because the actual song sounds great, sounds like Taj-Mahal Travelers.... |

Aye that's fucked mate, I wonder what the deal is with my copy? It looks pristine but it sounds like I'm playing a 78 that's been through a dishwasher.....

Hmmm, I bought it in Canada so I assume it's the us version. Weird. Oh well. I'll have the track when the album is released so no matter....
