Drag act suggestions
 

I need to get a second job but it dawned on me that most jobs are boring by nature and i deserve better.I've had an idea of creating a drag act for quite some time and i'm open to suggestions.Said act would be fairly conscious of the many unfunny and uncreative drag queens that populate the gay scene so keep in mind that.So.......?I hope this doesn't come accross as a jokey joke because i am serious about it.Please leave all ironic etc posts to one side.

how about getting someone to play piano and you can do the singing/laying on the piano in a suggestive way etc.

Be a butch. that way you are impersonating a lesbian while being in drag. And have all their mannerisms, and their way of talking and attitude.

Just don't do "Queeny" drag. The drag artistes (and I meant to put the "e" there) at Madame JoJos, when I went there, were nothing but annoying. Pick an interesting icon to base yourself on, but don't be trashy.

With the return of All Saints, a drag All Saints would be cool, but then you'd have to share any money you earned with three other people, and that would suck.

I don't know why, but I'm thinking that Tracey Emin would be a good "icon" on which to base your act.

Porky what kind of drag are you going to do? Also why don't you be a drag who only sings Judy Garland songs?

I got the name from a drag queen friend: Barbaracadabra.So far my idea is to talk as less as possible(i could see the odd bottle being pelted here and there) and i'll be playing Ashtray Navigations in working mens pubs.I'd hate performing in one of those gay cabaret bars as i find most gay men annoying by nature.My influences:
David Hoyle,Chris Morris,Anna Magnani and Sonic Youth.

you could be the backup to ashtray navigation at atp. i could talk to phil for you i am sure he would agree.

That'd be great.Another influence is James Maker who used to be the go-go dancer at some of the early Smiths gigs.
