I got hit by a car once too while riding a bike. It was fun, I got 300 bucks for it.

i wasn't being serious about it being aweseome. that shit was terrifying and now i have to drive everywhere i go.

the girl was really apologetic and offered to buy me a new bike and get my laptop fixed and pay for whatever medical bills. everyone says i should try and get some monetary compensation as well, but paying to get a powerbook fixed will be expensive enough.

ive come really close to getting hit, had to pay $200 dollars to fix my bike after hitting a curb to avoid getting hit.

the last time I got hit by a car on my bike, I was so grateful and surprised that I didnt eat shit and face plant the pavement, that I never even stopped. Probably scared the asshole who hit me more then he scared me.

I have been remarkably lucky, especially considering I only have 1 brake that performs at about 75% of what it needs to. I almost got doored yesterday, but managed to swerve. I had about 4 near-misses this year, and only 1 wipeout. One of the reasons I never became a bike messenger was the fact that I never knew a single one who hadn't been hit by a car on more than one occasion.
