I Don't Care What You Think- I Like Rather Ripped

just cuz you can't appreciate songwriting and gorgeous textures doesn't mean you should shit on this record. i bought it on vinyl, and while i don't think it's their best, it's pretty fucking awesome. my roomate (who is NOT an SY fan) plays it all the time when i'm not here. pink steam and or are excellent.

SO QUIT YR BITCHIN!

agreed pink steam and or are amazing but the best tracks are the bonus tracks which i find strange.... anyway, rr is being edged out of my top 20 releases of 2006. i think its 17 at the moment.. the destroyed room is a far better release by em this year.

I don't understand all of the hate for this record. I'm all for the noise, extrapolated song writing and "uncompromising" yadda yadda...but there's nothing wrong with some good, concise tuneful song writing every once in a while.

Don't get me wrong. It's no Washing Machine, but it's still a great listen.

It's not too shabby---sleeping around kinda sucks. I just imagine thurston wrote it to embarass coco, who has been being a naughty dog with boys round town. (and yes i can't spell 'embarass').

I like Rather Ripped too.

That doesn't change my estimation or the common consensus that it is one of Sonic Youth's less remarkable outings, however.
