Cities no longer need the ground!
|
Crazy. Remind me not to move there.
|
Sounds a little too ambitious to me.
Though I have read...somewhere....that islands are being built, and sold, for private housing and public resorts. (I'm terrible with details, though) Edit: Here http://realestate.theemiratesnetwork...ld_islands.php Seems Dubai, a country, has turned to support their economy with tourism, this being one of their tasks. |
I don't think that those sky cities would turn out very well. I can't imagine it would be a happy living situation, either.
It would make a great movie, though! |

They should just blast noise music and make cities float (Thanks to whoever first posted this video) |

I think osama would cum all over the idea of it. Terrible idea. Bush wouldn't let it happen. |
you all must be kidding me. seriously, that sounds like the most incredible idea ever. can you imagine how insane it would feel to look up the thing? or to look out from the upper floors on a clear day? (sorry, i love skyscrapers.)
frank lloyd wright once wanted to build a mile-high skyscraper in chicago . . . i can only imagine how that would have looked. jaw-dropping, i'm certain. |
The future frightens me.
|
I think it would be really cool, but it seems very dangerous.
It also reminds me of: ![]() |
It is a great idea. I'd like to see it pulled off.
People always talk about global crowding. What people really need to be talking about is how to use the earth more efficiently for our rising population. It is sick just to hope for mass death. |
that show extreme engineering is a weird but fascinating show,
there is also a city in a pyramid idea for the city of Tokyo http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence...teractive.html or the idea of a transatlantic tunnel linking north america to europe via high speed rail tunnels anchored 200 ft under water for the span of the north atlantic http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence...teractive.html the coolest ones are the one that are more feasible like a road bridge crossing the straight of gibraltar, linking europe and africa or tunneling under the Alps to relieve traffic congestion in Switzerland http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence...teractive.html the Oosterscheldedam in Holland is a very unique mobile dam already in existence that stays open to allow for the mass shipping lanes to operate, and can close to prevent flooding, since the Netherlands are mostly under sea-level, a flood would be extremely devastating http://dsc.discovery.com/convergence...teractive.html |
i didnt quite get it.....is it just 3 buidings next to one another with a giant platform?.or is it floating,
|
i like it but at the same time it seems a total sci fi nutbag idea.
|
I just want to know if scientologist are behind this idea.
|
I wonder how many terrorist-hijacked planes it would take to take down
