Haunting intros

My favourite of all the time is the one for 'Damage Inc.' by Metallica.Yours?

Savage Clone 12.06.2006 01:07 PM

A lot of Graveland's intros are better than the actual songs.

Also, the beginning of "Honey" by Spacemen 3 is way up there for me.

I love the whole of 'Master Of Puppets' but that intro is just beautiful. It's frustrating finding out that a beautiful intros might lead into a naff tune.

I so love the way 'Mary Anne' sucks you into a void.

Classic example:
Magic Fucking Carpet Ride.
Why put an intro that menacing and awesome in front of such a lame assed wimpy (barely even) "psychedelic" radio tune?

porkmarras 12.06.2006 01:14 PM

Ride were masters at that.Thankfully the stake was kept at bay by the fact the music generally lived up to it.

Do you not find that being a composer of intros is the greatest job ever?hehe

"akuma no uta" by boris has a great intro,
also "we're no here" by mogwai
