Sun Ra is pretty awesome, but a lot of times I ask myself, "What the fuck am I listening to?" I'd rather listen to Miles.

Hah! I just played all of side two (the title track) of Atlantis on my radio show this morning! The best moments of the Arkestra are when you ask yourself "What the fuck am I listening to?" The answer is invariably, Sun Ra and his Arkestra and nothing else, as nobody else can, or even would want to, do that.

True true true, but sometimes I'm just puzzled in not a cool way....I don't know....it's weird. A lot of times I don't really feel it.

Fair enough - everybody can't love everything. I've actually seen both Miles and Ra (though bost obviously at the end of their days and way past their prime), and though I have tons of both, I feel the Ra way more. But maybe that just means I'm a dissonant person. ;) Miles is definitley smoother. Ra doesn't have any good sex albums.
