Does anyone know this label and record?I've found it in a bin over 3 years a go and it's a cool testament to what was going on in Holland at the time.

Compilation album crammed with intriguing bits and pieces (37 tracks in 71 minutes!) from the the Idiot Records archives - both Dutch and English speaking material -, programmed like a radio show: oldies, rare singles, unknown B-sides, unreleased tapes, and commercial jingles. Artists include Paul Tornado ("Van Agt Casanova"), Suzannes, Fay Lovsky ("Fijn voor de Lijn"), Jakob Klaasse, EurAbia, Knalhutte Boys. Produced and compiled by Johan Visser.

arround '77, label's name was 1000 idiots. Students of Art academy of Enschede created a scene to protest against a law regarding forbidding of harcore porn movies. So protest music => nederpunk.
The whole idea was:
'when you got 1000 idiots who buy a single the the label is out of dept'
They released some singles etc. and first idiots is a compilation of the best releases. I would love a copy and srry for my terrible english..?

don't think i know the label itself (not sure) but there are some songs on it i've heard before i'm sure. "van agt cassanova" was about the then dutch prime minister Van Agt who wanted to restrict the showing of hardcore porn movies in cinemas to smaller audiences. i think that's what Anti was referring to in the above post.

anyway, i'm not really into the dutch punk and post-punk from that time, but you would make this thread a bit more interesting by adding a ysi to it. i'm at least somewhat curious to hear it.

thanks... i know the first song, but not the other two.
the first one is actually the only one i kind of like. the second one sounds like a bad carnaval song. 3rd one is tolerable, but i can't get over the singer's dutch accent.

All in all it's difficult to give a general opinion about the whole record because the majority of the artists and songs differ radically both musically and (judging by the booklet inside) aesthetically.
