going out to buy music tommorrow

I'm going out tommorrow to buy some music, but besides that I want to buy Trout Mask Replica, I don't really know what else to get. I have enough money to buy around two more records. Anybody have any recommendations?

_slavo_ 12.29.2006 09:28 AM

get some Philip Jeck. You'll be surprised.

Nobody ever takes any notice of the recommendations in this type of thread, so I won't bother.

Hey, this place can make you grumpy sometimes, don't sweat it. But I always pay attention when people reply to my requests like this, so hope is not all lost.

Don't trust people at a message board. Read the frontpage of the Aquarius Records website. If you're a Trout Mask admirer, you should be able to trip into that kinda weirdness.

I've learned about a shit load of good music through message board people.

its hard to suggest records for someone to buy, if you dont know what theyve already got. Obviously i dont expect anyone to type up their entire collection, but if you dont have any of the following essentials id go with a pick of them:

pyshcocandy by the jesus and mary chain
hex enduction hour by the fall
tago mago by can
human eye by human eye
fun house by the stooges
isnt anything by my bloody valentine
white light/white heat by the velvet underground

I've never ordered from the Aquarius website, but I do check it out a couple of times each month. DJ Rick - how has your experience been when ordering from the Aquarius site?

The people at Aquarius are super nice, but what are you ordering? its always better to get stuff straight from a label. the shipping at Aquarius can get crazy.

What is this "buying music" you speak of?

Are we still on the internet?

val-holla-ing 12.30.2006 01:01 AM

"moments in love" by the art of noise.

Tickerwelly 12.30.2006 07:04 AM

I second Can's Tago Mago.

Isoflurane 12.30.2006 07:20 AM

Charles Mingus: Blues and Roots.
The sounds of this record and the music on it just tear me up.
