Ah, the Birthday Party. Such a very, very good band. Not strictly what I understand by no-wave - there's too many bits of other ideas in there... Cave's lyrics, written in blood-stained needles... there's the showtune element and all these excellent ideas... no-wave always seems more about a singular, anti-rock aesthetic. Mars/ Early SY are my favourites of NY no-wave.

Not being any help, but a hearty recommendation for the Birthday Party. Were I inclined to make lists, Junkyard would be in one, or more, of those lists.
