recommend me some more in the vain of burial!!!
like I said i dont wanted to dis the whole genre. its just that it felt like basswankery back in the days. all the guys and even girls Ive talked to about it (when it was new, hot the next big thing etc.) the only thing they were really interested in where bassacrobatics. and I didnt get it at all. sure it was interesting at the beginning, what they did with the good all bass. but the mainstream music listeners just focused on it.
I know a million people who started to produce their own music because of dubstep. which is a good thing. but a lot of them are the best examples of this wankery bass focus.
my fault I dont wanted to let it sound like I think dubstep is just about bass. It isnt. but the ugly mainstream feels that way. or to say it better it felt. I am not involved as a follower/fan anymore like a few years ago.
I read a review about mount kimbies crooks and lovers recently wich really caught my attention. will have a listen soon I think!!! is it good?
to clear it out:
I dont like the "male-rage" elements anymore in dubstep. I dont know really why, it isnt that I like this element at all. I recognized that I really enjoyed the black metal documentary "until the light takes us" just because of this aspect. how they build a scene, a "world" out of these exact emotions. even if I dont like the sound, the tolkien world almost nothing about it.
I hope I made clear what I am aiming at, and I think I can reduce it to this aspect which gets just pretty huge in a genre wich attracted a lot of people, coming out of nothing.
