Well, you may be quite right, but the Latin name for lead is
plumbum, and it's kind of a funny name either way. Our house still has some original lead piping, I'm rather proud to say, although it causes problems sometimes when work needs doing, as apparantly most tradesmen are terrified of working with lead. I have to ring up trade organisations and get a list of people registered as being prepared to work with lead. Tschh.
