as far as current gen goes:
Wii - is what I went with. I mostly use it for games with my wife since it's in the living room. Great lightgun games, and co-op shit. Plus, virtual console is a nice addition. GameCube backwards compatibility is a plus.
XBOX360 - seems to have the best selection of Shmups this generation.
PS3 - fuckoff.
