I'll just post an edited version of the email I sent to Glice:
I've spent the past 6 or so hours doing everything within my power to get rid of this virus. I must have obtained it while doing my usual downloading of dodgy torrents. Anyway, what it does is redirect my browser searches (from Google and from even places like Yahoo), it also allows other malware to enter my system and now my computer is becoming extremely slow.
I've searched around and I think I have some variant of the TSSD virus (though Glice thinks this is not actually what I'm dealing with here). The solution to that was to find an .exe file with tssd in the name and delete it but I have no files like that even when I search, so I think I have the second type of the Google Redirect infection. From what I've read, it is impossible for malware searching software to pick up on it and delete... so the only option is to go into my registry files and manually delete it. Easy enough? Well, apparently it changes it's name to something obscure and is hidden very deep within the system files.
There are a lot of programs out there saying that it specifically fixes the problem, but I've found out that it's a "download and then be coaxed to buy" sneaky type of deal. I've tried cleaning my registries and then clearing everything else up with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware but the problem just keeps persisting. It's becoming a real nuisance now and I've tried everything the web has offered to me... I'm really looking for any thoughts you people might have.
Oh and I can't perform a full factory reset either, this version of windows wasn't installed by myself.. this is the most peculiar problem I've ever had on the internet.
I'm sure verme has a solution... don't worry you can delete your post after you help me of course.
