2 completely different artists to compare. vangelis great whta he does but jean michel jarre is a true genius in how he brings such old equipment together and launches it into life. admittedly his older work beats his new work hands down but he is truly an inspirational figure in a genre which can often be said to be cold and impersonal.
oxygene, equinoxe, magnetic fields, rendezvous, his live material and shows, deserted palace, geometry of love, and certainly zoolook are untouchable. the comparison to vangelis is unfair. so leave the chinstroking musos aside..actually chin stroking musos should certainly regard jarre as one of the finest musicians ever.
