I realise this is not quite in the spirit of what's intended here, but it reminds me of something from 25 years ago which was quite funny and worth checking out.
In an episode of Blackadder the Third, Edmund inadvertantly destroys the first and only copy of Samuel Johnson's dictionary, a nine-year, fully comprehensive work. In order to lessen the impact of the loss, Edmund sets about using ridiculous made up words which Johnson could never have heard of. Very funny at the time... not seen it since, but I'm sure it would stand up today.
