The lady on the phone at EDF energy used the word 'obviously' so much last year that I ended up saying, quite politely "I'm afraid it isn't 'obvious', that is why I'm calling; I appreciate you're trying to help me, but were these matters obvious I would not be calling. Could you explain without reference to how obvious the matter is?"
Which was hilarious, as she kept stuttering the 'Obv...' thereafter and got increasingly flustered. That'll teach her for claiming that I wanted to pay for services I had used.
