I think it's a common "problem" with "post-rock" bands etc.
You kinda
know what to expect from their albums, and if you listen with not enough attention/care you get the impression everything is "as usual" and consequently not worth your time and consequently useless compared to bands' earlier output.
But hell, what about the guitars in "san pedro"?
The chords/progression/sounds smacked right in the middle of "too raging to cheers"?
