Nope.
Im just saying the world is a sad, confused, and fucked up place. And things arent so simple.
Last year at SXSW I met an Iraqi/Afghan vet who was bouncing at this club we played at, was shooting the shit with him talking about things while my band set up and we smoked a cig together.
He was telling me about how when he was over there they would give candy to the little kids, but the rule was noone could run up, they had to be handed the candy in a line (similar to a highschool cafeteria).
This little kid came running up to him as fast as he could and the soldier's instinct was to just kick him in the head.
The little kid fell instantly and hit his head and died.
When they opened the kids vest/shirt they found a ton of C4 strapped on him and a trigger in his hand.
You tell me what is worse?
Maybe the kid could have been innocent and the US soldier would have had innocent blood on his hands? (happens)
Or that the Iraqi's who oppose US forces train their children to sacrifice themselves, taking away any chance of a future for whatever fucking cause.
or that the Iraqi kid would have killed dozens of other Iraqi children peacefully waiting for some candy plus the US soldiers.
hmm?
We shouldnt be over there.
We shouldnt be fighting wars anymore at all, we should have become enlightened by now.
I could care less if the world ends in 2012, infact I hope it does. We desperately need a restart.
maybe next go around we'll get it right.
but I doubt it.
