I have a phobia of wasps. Not the white anglo saxon protestant kind, although those are kind of scary, too. The stinging kind.

When I was like 11, somebody told me if a wasp stings you in the jugular, you'll die immediately. I'm also terrified that, unlike bees, they can sting you repeatedly. I've never been stung by a wasp yet (knock on wood), but they scare me so bad. There was one in the garage last summer as I was getting out of the car, and I did a perfect Jerry Lewis imitation scrambling and slipping and tripping over stuff, pushing past my wife, and shrieking like a little girl to get in the house. Luckily enough for me, my wife seems to understand that this phobia is deep-rooted and she's very patient about it.
