Canada is a nothing drive for someone living in Chi town, so you could do that just about anytime. I can guarantee you wouldn't be disappointed making the drive out west. The family and I drove out to Vegas back in April and it was wonderful. Gas prices have fallen a good deal since we made that trip two months ago and they are looking to continue this trend. My advice would be to drive out to Cali now if you can afford it because the next time you have an itch to get out of town, gas prices could be $4 per gallon or more and that short drive to Canada would be such a nice option.

If you do drive out west, make sure to drive the Vegas strip at night. It doesn't cost a thing and you'll never forget it. When in Vegas, you're only 45 minutes away from the Hoover damn (no cost to walk across it and look around) and about two to four hours away from the Grand Canyon. Also, the four corners is in between Chicago and Los Angeles and is another free stop.



 




 




 

I see your Grand Canyon, and raise you one psychedelic mind fuck of a landscape that even Dali's could hardly have imagined..
