Anyhow, the cynic in me is weary of the "urban, eclectic, artsy vibe" that Chicago is supposed to embody. Chicagoans are always trying to go that next step further, break that next boundary, advance the avant garde. This assault on the intellect and senses has personally left me desensitized and apathetic.

I don't think Chicago is alone in that at all. Better that, than a community that has little-to-nothing to offer in the way of art.
