Gamma Ray Burst? Maybe.. but even if no "local" event will kill us, I guess it`s likely that at some point, in a few billion years, the universe will be pretty much dead: all stars burned out, all energy and matter transformed in a final, "used-up" state, etc.
That`s what I think will be how "we" will die out.. hehe
