Searched the SYGossip & never seen this posted before. Maybe I didn't look hard enough, anyway anyone ever seen this? Picked it up earlier today. It's basically a bunch of bands that covered Sonic Youth tracks. Here's my "review" so hopefully none of you took part in this recording.
Track listing:
1. Death Valley '69 by Racebannon. - Annoying and sounds terrible.
2. Shadow of a Doubt by Brystl. - Still unsure what to think of this.. Overall the vocals need to be louder.
3. Eric's Trip by New Grenada. - Pretty groovy track by some females. Sounds like Vivian Girls covered Sonic Youth with electronic mixing.
4. I Dreamed a Dream by Steel Pole Bath Tub. - One of my favorites on the album, In my opinion, sounds very similar to Sonic Youth besides the vocals.
5. Cinderella's Big Score by Twink. - No. Just no.
6. Dirty Boots by Stationary Odyssey. - Another track that needs to have the vocals louder, the playing is really slow. Sounds pretty shitty.
7. Little Trouble Girl by Rapider Than Horsepower. - The same exact thing as I Dreamed a Dream.
8. Kool Thing by Tub Ring. - Pretty heavy. Nice little break in the middle.
9. Making The Nature Scene by KY Prophet. - Decent old school hip hop transitions.
10. Kotton Krown by Elf Power. - An acoustic piece I believe. Not feeling it.
11. Sugar Kane by Parts & Labor. - I Dreamed a Dream, Little Trouble Girl, and Kool Thing are my favorites from this tribute album. I would put this right up there with them.
12. Death Valley '69 by Saicobab. - No idea why they have this on here twice... This is almost as bad as the first one.
