all his books involved children getting mistreated in some way. either nice children with bad parents who win in the end or bad children who end up as they do in the film.
the story is making the point of too many stupid spoilt brats with shitty parents who let them get away with murder, which dahl hated, and so do i for that matter. the good kid always wins in the end..not like real life where the good kids get stomped and the bad kids get to go around treating everyone like shit and get away with it.
who doesnt hate horrible little brats? he was probably trying to influence kids to behave better, which i can see nothing wrong with.
the book was wrote in the 60's or 70's i think, and now walk around a town or city in england and see the little fuckers with no respect for anyone or anything. id send em to wonkas factory and have turned into big blueberrys!
