If Suarez is allowed to play I'm not quite sure I can ever watch FIFA again, period, end of discussion. The corruption of international politics and economics is bad enough pill to swallow, but at least we had the game itself to enjoy? If they are politically and economically corrupt AND blatantly corrupting the game at a fundamental level that was just witnessed by literally BILLIONS of eyes and will be on constant GIF loop across Twitter for days??? That would be waving the white flag.
When an NBA ref who was involved in a crucial 2007 NBA playoff series that ended on some very controversial officiating to say the least (that is, euphemistically) subsequently plead guilty to fixing 54 NBA games and served 14 months in Federal prison in 2008, I stopped watching basketball entirely for 4 years, and really only begrudgingly embraced it again, albeit with the caveat of acknowledging that it all could be good fiction, but hey, I like novels and movies.
That being said, my brain can only handle one fictional sport at a time
