This year has been super fucking weird. I keep finding albums I was initially excited about totally fucking lame when I go back to them.
I'm always changing around my top fives, but because there's been such a limited amount of truly mind blowing lyrical hip hop, I'm going to have to say that I'm going to be officially considering this year's releases by Dibia$e and patten to be "hip hop" and allow them to be measured along side vocal shiz like Future, Fabolous, Iggy, and others.
Really, I'm starting to get nervous about the triple threat of Yeezy, Weezy, and Wu-Tang. I thought we'd have new releases by all three to be praising by now. But no.
I am beginning to question whether Kanye and Wu can get an album out this year. I want Ye to get back on his 1 album per year pace, because he's 10 years into his career and at the top of his game. He needs to pump them out like the Beatles did in 65-68. Otherwise he may run out of time, and face "fading away" instead of burning out, which I'm sure he would rather do. Blaze of glory style.
