U2 suck
now. But in their prime (which has LONG since past), they had an original sound...sure they were mainstream (as if that's some sort of measure of how good a band is), but they were the exception, not the rule. Simple Minds and the Alarm mgith have
thought they were in the same league, but they weren't.
If I someone bolted a set of headphones to my ears and forced me to listen to a U2 album over and over for the rest of my life, I'd rather it be
The Joshua Tree.
