I wouldn't write Spain off, if only because none of the teams so far look shoe ins themselves. This might hopefully be a tournament where an outlier finally lifts the trophy. Croatia, Belgium, England (there, I said it), Uruguay all look at least as viable as any of the so-called Big Guns so far.
Put Ramos in a situation where he's forced to defend and he makes mistakes. He's a great captain/leader of men, a big game player, and an invaluable source for important goals, but I've never really trusted him purely as a centre-back. In that role I'd take someone like Godin over Ramos all day long - even though Ramos offers more all round.
