Yeah, people do misread it.

It’s supposed to be like “True Crime,” according to the showrunner.

But I think there’s definitely a double-meaning there. That being, an inherent question of who, in each respective season, is the “true detective.” In S3, Purple’s wife is every bit the detective her husband is.

And in season 2... well, I forget a lot about that season, but I still say it’s overrated.

S3 followed a similar formula as S1, but with decidedly less compelling results. Still a damn good show.
