if you travel through the tropics /3rd world/ etc sometimes the bus is the most deluxe of setups: people, potato sacks, chickens, goats, etc., all crammed into one sweaty tinbox. the low rent version is the same cargo but hanging from the back of a pickup truck on the potato sacks. and if you’re up high you freeze instead. i always had a blast.

usa i used to do dc to new york a lot by bus. did also dc to pittsburgh in... 12! hahaha. it was cool and entertaining. and my first time in paris i got so disoriented i paid for a tour bus just to get a general idea. it wasn’t too annoying and i got a nice view.

i figured a couple of hours in an autobahn wouldn’t any kind of be torture, but ymmv...

I think they are the most wellknown, at least in this area of Europe.

Bus travel was really impopular a number of years ago, but it's had a revival and might indeed be the cheapest way to travel through Europe (but also boring and longwinding as fuck)

i read somewhere there were new fast routes developed in recent times. i’d rather do bus than nothing at all...
