This equation of Bernie-support with poverty doesn't add up for me. My work has recently lead to me spending more time in the US - specifically Miami and Atlanta. Those who are most overtly pro-Bernie that I've encountered (mainly people I work with) are overwhelmingly quite comfortably off, while the sense I get from those far lower down the scale is that they fucking LOVE Biden - when they'e not simply Trump supporters. In Atlanta anyway. Miami is its own political ecosystem. Either way, look at the states that Bernie was predicted to do well in. They're relatively wealthy.
