it’s backwards logic to claim that this result was achieved by design and that a year ago she started her campaign for this purpose. we arrived to this through a series of unexpected events.
i think, again, that looking at this election from abroad without knowing the culture and the population one tends to miss a lot of the voters’ motivations which often come down to identity rather than mere ideology.
her voters are not directly translatable to bernie. to claim so is a bit of a berniebroism: “she took what’s mine, how dare she.” no, she didn’t. she had her own ideas and her own appeal and her own coalition. up until super tuesday she was polling right below 15%, which put her on the edge of viability. failing to achieve that she was forced to quit.
yes she has a tendency to whine which is in a big part why she couldn’t find mass appeal. but the berniebros are a problem and we see this every day. this is plainly observable and not a made-up thing.
now, to go on tv and double down on the accusations and twist the knife, yes: it’s clear now she wants bernie out of the way. if biden gets elected she’s likely getting a cabinet post and i think she’d be great in it, setting policy instead of trying to sell it to the public.
