This is classic lawyerism tactics 101.
They know they are fucked, so if they say "release everything" it looks like they are not fucked. Then when DOJ redacts, they can claim victory, or when the whole truth comes out they can continue to bullshit about FBI plants and witch-hunts etc etc etc.
Of course they are going to scream "release it all".
