for mental survival it's either epicureanism or stoicism (as i've been telling skuj for years)

not many can do stoicism well. but a walled garden is achievable for the aesthetically inclined.

i'm not talking of contemporary mindless excesses understood by that label btw but the true & classical philosophy.
