sometimes sold-out shows get so overcrowded that they ain't fun anymore.
Like the last time I saw Nils Frahm. The venue was half standing, and half seated. Because the venue was only a 10-minutes bike ride I arrived late, and all good seats were taken. So I sat somewhere way up high. There were so many people that many were sitting in the aisles. I got a bit claustrophobic and didn't really enjoy Nils's playing anymore.
List of sold-our shows I went to is pretty endless, and I don't really keep track. All the twenty times I saw Godspeed You Black Emperor were sold out I guess.
One of the most note-worthy was Sigur Ros at Alexandra Palace in London in 2008. They made the Inni movie out of that one.
One of the very first concerts that I attended was The Pixies in 1990-ish, and I was front row
Sometimes you go see one of your favourite bands and it turns out the venue is not even half full. That happened with Silver Mt. Zion and Retribution Gospel Choir for instance. Cat Power got moved from the large hall into the small hall at the same venue, which still made it sold out.
