on a separate note... because i was under the pernicious influence of the "starving artist" myth, i've had a lot of shitjobs in my day, though they were all been instructive. dishwasher, commercial fisherman, waiter (waiter was the worse), construction worker, store clerk, etc-- i got so many cos never lasted long in any of them-- it was a way to get by while figuring out i hate crippling poverty. or maybe i was just trying to escape my middle-class upbringing
