The greatest thing Jesus teaches us is that all the knowledge and power in the world is pitiful until it is accompanied by the wisdom to apply it judiciously. But I suppose that's the lesson of all history.

Another lesson from Jesus - people who are secure in their own identities and abilities are the ones least compelled to publicly defend themselves and advertise said abilities. Those who need to prove such things to themselves engage in that kind of behavior.
