I still have days when I listen to loads of Smiths stuff, but Morissey solo (and Marr's other stuff) has never had anything like the same effect on me. I would say though that a 'Smiths mood' isn't the wallowing self-pity thing that many imagine it to be - I always thought of Morissey as either clever or witty (or both). The Smiths made me smile a lot and, of course, they're another wonderful thing about Manchester.

'Smiths moods' usually consist of the whole of 'Meat is Murder' and whatever other bits I choose. For whatever reason, I've never updated my Smiths stuff onto cd - they seem to suit vinyl.
