Part of the blame for removing the balls from jazz lies with Harry Connick, Jr. and that John Pizzarelli guy that sings the notes.
His father, Bucky Pizzarelli, was pretty good.
Most of the blame can be traced back to Miles and Herbie (both of whom are great artists otherwise) for unleashing jazz fusion elevator music onto the world.
