A comedian on Letterman did this real funny bit the other night. He was talking about how sometimes you let a glass door swing into the person behind you. If that person is white, you just mumble an apology or carry on like it didn't happen. If that person is black (& you are white) then you instantly go into a litany of apologies that approach a silly begging of their forgiveness. This is so true. I'm not like that anymore, but I can remember when I was.
Much of the humor in The Office is centered around cultural and racial differences. It's intelligently done though and absolutely hysterical.
