James Webb (Dem) - 1,172,212 (49.6%)
George Allen (Rep) - 1,165,118 (49.3%)
that's still 7,094 votes in the Dems favor. There will be a recount, but hopefully it wont change the outcome.
Keep in mind that a 51/49 Senate includes Joe Lieberman, who ran as an independent after losing the Democratic primary in CT, in the Democratic column. He has
promised to caucus with the Dems, but the Republicans might be able to get him to vote with them on some issues.
