Riot Grrrls were just a fad that came and went just like that "big bad voodoo daddy" fad in the late 90s. they tried to compensate their inability to write music and play instruments with feminism politics, but the thing that made it fake and phoney was the fact that they really didn't know very much about feminism(especially in the 60s-70s) and none of them ever did shit for their cause. how many benefits did we ever see BK or the riot grrrls play for orgs like planned parenthood or NOW?

all fashion, no action.

LUNACHICKS were way more influential and helped the cause than any of those riot grrrl bands and they weren't even pawning themselves as "riot grrls" or a "girl band". they were just a kick ass band.

same as the babes.
